LA QUINTA CRUZ
APPELLATION: Rioja DO
Alcoholic fermentation in a small stainless steel tank at a temperature of between 24 and 25 ºC, with little pumping over. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 500 and 225 liter French oak barrels.
On the nose it is clean, floral and very expressive of the variety. On the palate it has a medium body, easy palate, good balance, very fine tannins and a long finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Fish and seafood with citrus or creamy sauces.
- 94 Points by Robert Parker ( Wine Advocate), Vntg 2019, vntg 2018.
PRODUCER: Briones, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, gathered all the conditions I was looking for: old steep vineyards of Tempranillo grapes, chalky soil and a climate showing a marked Atlantic influence. Declared a town of historic artistic merit, Briones is where we decided to site our bodega.
Now as one of the smallest wineries in Spain, our wines are among the most prestigious in the country.
